First Aid Materials
The importance of the First Aid Training Centre plays a major role in terms of providing individuals with the knowledge and skills that can save lives. The First Aid Training Centre provides the ability to save lives, improves public health, raises awareness, provides rapid response in emergencies, increases the capacity of individuals to help themselves and others, increases safety in workplaces, strengthens social solidarity, and provides cooperation with the Ministry of Health and other official institutions. As a result, First Aid Training Centres are vital institutions that increase the health awareness of societies, improve the quality of life and ensure the safety of people.
First Aid Training Centre Coordinatorship was opened in 2013. In 2014, First Aid Certificate Trainings were started. Our centre is affiliated to the Ministry of Health and the certificates given as a result of the trainings are approved by the Ministry of Health.
Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University First Aid Training Centre has started its activities as of 12.10.2013 by receiving the First Aid Training Centre Authorisation Certificate issued by Tokat Governorship Provincial Health Directorate.
Purpose of Trainings
First aid trainings are carried out in order to increase the basic health knowledge of the society, to teach first aid knowledge and skills, to reduce the risk of death and disability due to accidents by having first aid personnel in all public and private institutions/organisations.
The importance of first aid is also emphasised in the Ministry of Health's First Aid Regulation No. 29429, and it has been made compulsory to have a first-aider in institutions within the scope of occupational health and safety.
In less dangerous workplaces, 1 first-aider for every 20 employees,
In hazardous workplaces, 1 first-aider for every 15 employees,
In very dangerous workplaces, 1 first-aider for every 10 employees.
Training Information
Trainings will be given to 1 trainer for every 7 participants and maximum 20 people in each class.
Our trainings are given in classrooms in the standards determined by the Provincial Directorate of Health.
Trainings are theoretical with the support of powerpoint presentations and practical with training models.
Our training models in our trainers are simulated and electronically show whether the application is done correctly or not.
Our training book approved by the Ministry of Health is given to the participants free of charge during the training.
How is first aid training evaluated?
After the training, a written and practical exam is conducted by the Provincial Directorate of Health. Candidates who get at least 85 out of 100 points from this exam are entitled to receive a first aid certificate.
(1) It is compulsory for first-aiders to be at least primary school or primary school graduates.
(2) Participants must attend the entire training period.
(3) In order for the participants to be considered successful at the end of the training, they must have 85 points out of 100 points from each of the theoretical and practical exams. Participants who are not successful in the theoretical exam are not taken to the practical exam.
(4) Participants who are recorded by the exam supervisor teams for not complying with the exam rules are deemed to have failed the first exam right.
(5) Participants who are not successful in the exams are subjected to the exam again within one month. Participants who fail despite taking the exam twice are not given an authorisation certificate. If the person requests, a letter stating that he/she attended the course is given by the centre. The participant who fails in two exams shall attend the training again.
(6) The theoretical exam questions are determined by the exam supervision team from the question pool created by the directorate.
(7) Practical exams; basic life support, use of OED, airway obstruction and transport techniques-wounded extraction from the vehicle are carried out on the basis of the forms determined on the subjects requiring skill, provided that the subjects are absolutely necessary.
(9) Theoretical and practical exams are held on the same day; on the dates determined by the directorate, including weekends or outside working hours.
(10) Exams are held within thirty days from the day following the end of the training. In cases of force majeure or extraordinary circumstances such as natural disasters or dangerous epidemics, this period may be extended by the directorate for one month after the force majeure or extraordinary circumstances are eliminated.
What is the period of use of the first aid certificate?
ARTICLE 23 - (1) First-aider certificate/authorisation certificates:
a) The validity period of the first-aider certificate is three years. It is compulsory to take update training within 3 (three) months at the latest following the expiry of the validity period. The documents of those who attend the update training within the specified periods are renewed, the documents of those who do not participate are deemed invalid.

(3) Within the training programme of the Ministry of National Education, teachers who will provide first aid training must receive 16 hours of first aid training.
Our First Aid Training Centre is authorised to give "First Aid Certificate" and "First Aid ID" approved by the Provincial Health Directorate.
Trainings are given by our university lecturers who have first aid trainer certificate and are experts in their fields.
Visual, verbal and practical trainings last for 3 days and the exam on the 4th day (32 hours).
Training presentations are made with specially prepared training slides, live and inanimate mannequins suitable for the subject.
